[CESG] SIS Resolution - SIS-R-2024-05-01 Request Retirement of CCSDS 706.1-G-2

The CCSDS Space Internetwork Services (SIS) Area Director,

CONSIDERING that the Motion Imagery and Applications Working Group (MIA WG) has:

  *   Reviewed the content of the Green Book "Motion Imagery and Applications" (CCSDS 706.1-G-2) as part of the regular 5-year review process of CCSDS;
  *   Reached consensus on the fact that the book content is severely outdated and a new issue will actually result in the creation of a brand new book, for which no resources are available at the moment;
  *   Reached consensus on the fact that the book must be retired and get the Silver book qualification;

RESOLVES to request CMC to approve the retirement of the Green Book "Motion Imagery and Applications" (CCSDS 706.1-G-2) and accordingly assign the silver status.

RECOMMENDS that CESG and CMC approve this resolution and, finally

REQUESTS that CESG and CMC polls be conducted to approve the change of status of the book to historical one ('silver')

  *   Reached consensus on the fact that the book content is severely outdated and a new issue will actually result in the creation of a brand new book, for which no resources are available at the moment;
