Dear CCSDS Secretariat,

Secretariat: Please submit this SEA resolution for CESG approval and forwarding to the CMC.

Summary of resolution:

Resolution 1: Initiate a poll to publish the Information Security Glossary of Terms Pink Sheets as a Magenta Book, CCSDS 350.8-P-11

Thanks, Peter

 ======================================================================

SEA-R-2019-10-01 Initiate a poll to publish the Information Security Glossary of Terms Pink Sheets as a Magenta Book, CCSDS 350.8-P-11

The System Engineering Area,

CONSIDERING that:

The Security Working Group has completed Pink Sheet revisions to the original CCSDS 350.8-G-1 Green Book on Information Security Glossary of Terms, and that
This revised document is intended to provide a set of information security terms and their definitions for use as a normative reference in CCSDS Security WG and other documents, and that
Within CCSDS normative references must be defined in either a Blue Book or a Magenta Book, and that
This document has been re-formatted as a CCSDS Magenta Book, and that
The document has passed Agency review and all RIDs have been dispositioned, and that
The WG has achieved consensus on this item.

And RECOGNIZING that:

The CCSDS Organization and Processes (A02.1-Y-4 cor 2) Sec 6.1.4.3 states for Magenta, normative track, documents:

6.1.4.3 Recommended Practices are normative and have prescriptive content but are typically not directly implementable for interoperability or cross support. They may be of several types:

a)  specifications that are “foundational” for other specifications, but within themselves do not define content in a way that allows independent development and testing of separate but interoperable systems;
 and that,

This document defines terms that are foundational for Security WG (and other WG) documents, and that
The SEA AD has reviewed this document and determined that the document has been reviewed by agencies, RIDs are dispositioned, and that it is appropriately characterized and is ready to be published.

RESOLVES to request:

That the Secretariat prepare the document for publication, and that
The Secretariat initiate a poll requesting CESG and CMC approval to publish this document.
