Dear All,

As noted during the SEA part of the CESG meeting, and in the SANA Steering Group (SSG) session on Friday, the re-engineered SANA registries are up and available for a trial run. They are not yet in production and are still being worked on, but they are in very good shape and quite stable.

It is possible to have a preview of the new registries by going to https://iss.viagenie.ca/.
Please do note that this is a development website (so it might be broken/down any time) and that this URL should not be made public. You may, however, access it and explore all of the new features. The following features ought to be of interest:

1) All registries are now aligned to the new Registry Management Policy (RMP), CCSDS 313.1-Y-1.

2) The revised Organization, Contacts, and Roles registries are populated with the best set of current information from other registries (clean-up of old, inaccurate, data from existing registries requires agency review and update).

3) The Service Sites and Apertures registry is populated with the information available from the IOAG RF Assets registry (services are not yet populated, requires agency input).

4) The Spacecraft registry is populated with the information from the SCID registry and it has fields to handle the SCID frequency band changes.

5) The SCID request form, which now requires a login, has been re-engineered for convenient user entry and checking on input, e.g. you can't ask for a forward link and then request TM as the protocol. Also, multiple links can be added on a single form, on-line, for any spacecraft, such as X forward and X & Ka return. There is support for CubeSat OID assignment.

6) All entries now have assigned ISO Object Identifiers (OID) and you can browse the OID tree (a view of the framework is attached for reference).

7) All of the entries are cross referenced and hyperlinked, so you can find additional info about any field by clicking on the link. The full details for each registry and entry may be displayed.

8) All tables can be sorted by column heading and filtered. As few as ten or up to 100 items per page may be displayed at once.

9) Of course, HTTP/ REST programmatic access is provided as well.

We think that this set of registries, even in their present state, are far superior to the existing ones because of these new features. Please try them out and provide feedback. Assuming this trial run goes well we will propose a resolution to make them Approved and to retire the old registries.

Thanks, Peter
