[SSG] [CESG] ?Band Bins? for SCID assignments / Screen shot attachment of the IOAG RF Assets registry,

Hi Gippo,

I know that it is wide, I made a table of the RF Asset header names (attached) just so I could easily analyze it.

Are you involved in this IOAG effort in some way? Do you know why they have controlled access?

And on that similar note, if you are involved, we should discuss how to get this registry to align with the operational registry of services and apertures that the CSS Area requires. If we can get one registry to do the job for two separate activities that sounds like a win, especially since it is CCSDS that is hosting it. Yes?

Regards, Peter

Peter,
        note that the screen shot is incomplete (it is very wide and it does not fit in a single screen) and there are some pending changes.
I suggest we review this later on when the registry header will be finalized.

Regards

Gian Paolo

Peter,
       with respect to your proposal below, if imit will be implemented I do recommend keeping consistency with the headers of the IOAG RF assets table (to be modified I think) where the frequency bands are explicity addressed with numbers.

Purely based on pragmatic considerations I would suggest that we could create “Band Bins” that looked like this:

  * Everything below S-Band (HF, VHF, UHF, L)
  *   S-Band & C-Band
  *   X-Band
  *   K-Band (Ku, K, Ka)
  *   None or unstated

Regards

Gian Paolo
