Dear Eduardo,

We have indeed already set up an area in the CWE for this work. There is also a mailing list. Both may be found in the CWE under the SEA Area or as SEA-XSG.

Very best regards, Peter

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your comprehensive, objective explanation.

Please, let me know if -additional- information associated to your description for the re-newed XSG-SIG may
be eventually found in the CWE, if any. Also, should I identify a potential candidate from INPE, for the purpose,
can I advise him/her to contact you or, whom else? In this case, for possible, further, more especialized
acquaintance on the subject? Thank you, in advance.

In any case, your explanation is already sufficient for a start-up, which I am going for, in my internal probing,
within INPE.

With my best regards,
Eduardo

Dear Eduardo,

In the re-newed XML Standards and Guidelines (XSG) Special Interest group (SIG) we will be addressing the use of XML in a number of different CCSDS working groups. XML Schema and now being used or developed in CSS, MOMS, SEA, and now SOIS. They may be developed within SIS (schedules and contact plans). What we will be doing is to attempt, again, to identify a common set of guidelines for namespace management, object naming and XML schema structuring. The aim is to be able to use and cross reference XML schema from one WG to another. A key example is CSS SM WG use of MOIMS Nav WG trajectory files, but there are others.

What we are trying to do with this request is to identify if there are organizations who have expertise in XML and/or who have a vested interest in what these standards will define. A follow on activity will involve storing these CCSDS XML schema in a common SANA repository. We are also discussing whether a SANA repository might be provided for agencies to store their own externally visible XML schema and variations.

If you have such skills within INPE we would welcome your involvement.

Thanks in advance, Peter

Dear Nick,

In order to be able to provide INPE resposnse to CMC AI:

-----

CMC-A-2012-12-05

All CMC representatives to identify an agency contact person to address the XML issue and submit the name to the Secretariat for forwarding to the group working the issue.

Action: CMC Member Agencies

Due Date: Spring

-----

I would appreciate receiving from you or from a CCSDS colleague you may point
me a somewhat more detailed explanation of what is meant by ..."an agency
contact person to address the XML issue" ... It will help me in the pending
identification for INPE. Looking forward. Thank you.

Best regards,
Eduardo
