Congratulations, Gian Paolo, and we look forward to your Area Director leadership and further productive work from the SLS area.

Thanks to Jean-Luc, and our best wishes for him in his very well deserved retirement.  Your SLS AD leadership has been the basis for many standards that will help our agencies work together for a long time.

The CCSDS Management Council,
CONSIDERING that the CMC is responsible for appointing CCSDS Area Directors; and
RECOGNIZING that Mr. Gian Paolo Calzolari (ESA) has been proposed as Area Director for Space Link Services (SLS) to replace Mr. Jean-Luc Gerner (ESA); and
NOTING that no other agency has nominated an alternative candidate (see results of CMC-P-2010-12-001);
APPROVES the appointment of Mr. Gian Paolo Calzolari as Area Director of SLS.
Results of CMC poll beginning 13 January 2011 and ending 27 January 2011:

                ADOPT:  10 (100%) (ASI, CNES, CSA, DLR, ESA, FSA, INPE, JAXA, NASA, UKSA)
  ADOPT PROVISIONALLY:  0 (0%)
               REJECT:  0 (0%)
 REJECT WITH COMMENTS:  0 (0%)

Results are based on responses from 10 out of 11 members (90.91%).
