CESG E-Poll Identifier: CESG-P-2026-08-001 Approval to publish CCSDS 506.2-M-0, DELTA-DOR Architecture (Magenta Book, Issue 1)

APPROVE WITH CONDITIONS (state conditions that must be satisfied)
One very minor condition:
Recommended editorial change: Pg 3-1, Section 3.1 FROM "The accuracy of Delta-DOR measurements depends on four primary sources of error:" TO: "The accuracy of Delta-DOR measurements is affected by four primary sources of error." RATIONALE: I think the accuracy more likely depends on how good the implementing equipment is, how carefully the equipment and media are calibrated, strength of signals, how well the error sources can be controlled etc., rather than the error sources per se.

APPROVE WITH CONDITIONS (state conditions that must be satisfied)
Minor conditions:
Small imperfection on Figure 2-1: Delta-DOR Observation Geometry. The spacegraph delay tau is the "Spacecraft to Station" propagation time difference for the farthest station (t2) minus for the nearest station (t1). But this is not what is represented on the Figure for tau, because the ray paths are actually parallel for both ground stations, while they are not on the figure 2-1. In other word, we should have t2 = t1+ tau on the figure, but we have not. But it is not possible to represent spacecraft and quasar, and related parallel ray paths. That is why I suggest to complete the sentence "the observation geometry is illustrated in Figure 2-1" like this for instance: "the observation geometry is illustrated in Figure 2-1 assuming the 2 ray paths from the spacecraft (and from the quasar) are actually parallel".
I draw the figure below (with a true representation of tau) to illustrate the point
2) On figure 4-1, the formula related to the fractional delay correction (bottom right of the figure) looks to have a parenthesis error. There are 3 opening parenthesis, and 4 closing parenthesis. An additional opening parenthesis may be placed just after the term f (frequency) following the "=" (equal) sign, or the parenthesis just before the "-" (minus) sign may be removed.

APPROVE WITH CONDITIONS (state conditions that must be satisfied)
1) I think the foreword text needs to be updated (remove the parenthetical comment at the beginning)
2) There's references to equations in reference [1]. (CCSDS 500.1-G-2) - Green books are not normative, maybe it would be better to put the equation in this book, and say "as shown in [1]"
3) as Jean-Luc commented, Figure 2-1 shows only one tau (presumably to the spacecraft). Maybe add tau2, or clarify in some way?

DISAPPROVE WITH COMMENT (state detailed conditions for disapproval)
I'm honestly a bit concerned about this document, since a magenta book is by definition belonging to the normative track of CCSDS documents, but in my opinion the content here provided (from Section 3 onwards) reads more informational, i.e. more suitable for a green book. This is somehow confirmed by the large number of bibliographic entries most of them not supporting in my opinion normative guidelines as a magenta book should do instead.
Moreover, the preface states that this version is for an agency review hence provisional in some parts of the book, while the resolution is towards its possible publication. Missing clarification on the two above points, in my opinion the book can be published in the present form.

ABSTAIN (does not affect my Area)
Total Respondents: 5
Secretariat Interpretation of Results: Disapproved
Proposed Secretariat Action: Setup New CESG poll once conditions/comments are met.
