Hello,

I agree with Greg, Jean-Luc and Jon to keep in the Monday. On top of what was already mentioned, I am afraid the distance of the venue proposed for Wednesday may encourage people to skip the meeting.

SLP RFM, C&S, and SLP has already set aside all day Wednesday for our joint meeting. I agree with Jean-Luc and Jon Hamkins that we keep the Common Ground Forum for Monday for the upcoming Fall meeting and plan for Wednesday the next Spring meeting 2027.

Dear CCSDS Area Directors, WG Chairs, and Deputies,

As you may already be aware, for the Fall 2026 meeting in Matera this October, we are including the Common Ground Forum, which is now part of every in-person meeting held twice per year. The theme for this Forum will be:

Interoperability Standards for the New Space Economy

We would like your input on the scheduling of the Forum, which will span a half-day block. The options are Monday (Day 1) or Wednesday (Day 3). The attached slide outlines the pros and cons for each option.

On Monday, the theater is available only until 3:00 PM. This creates a tight window, though it may still be possible for WG members to still hold technical meetings after 3:00 PM.
If held on Wednesday, ASI has identified a local aerospace organization interested in hosting the Forum, providing a valuable opportunity for deeper industry engagement.
Please reply within 24 hours, as we need to make a decision as soon as possible.

The question is: Do you prefer the Forum to be held on Monday or Wednesday afternoon? Please respond assuming you will be present at the Forum.
