We have some feedback from a US space organization relative to the CCSDS CSS SMWG SMURF standard.  We do not have a formal relationship with them, but I believe we should treat them as any other outside review organization.  And they are on a fast-track trajectory.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] SAC- SMURF Angle Follow-Up


We received a few questions from the SAC about the SMURF Private Schema Extension.  As a committee we will discuss responses and changes at our committee meeting 11/13.


1) I note that Time, in addition to being CCSDS ASCII Time Code B format

also appears to be an ISO 8601 date/time group formatted item.



2) Azimuth is noted as being in the range [0,360].  This allows for overlap

at the origin.  Should the range not be [0,360) ?  (0<=x<360)



3) Angles and angle rates are noted as being in degrees or degrees/sec and

not in radians, whereas Range is in an indeterminate unit of m which is

assumed to be meters.  This causes mixed system of measures in the standard.
