1.1) for CCSDS Agency review
Results of CESG poll beginning 14 September 2022 and ending 28 September 2022:

Approve Unconditionally: 2 (40%) (Barkley, Cola)
Approve with Conditions: 2 (40%) (Shames, Aguilar Sanchez)
Disapprove with Comment: 0 (0%)
CONDITIONS/COMMENTS:
Erik Barkley (Approve Unconditionally): A comment/question
(not a condition)-- the book seems like it might have a better title
as it seems to really define the service that a Bundle Agent shall
provide rather than the bundle protocol per se. In 1.1, Purpose, the
book says "...establish a CCSDS Recommended Standard for Bundle
Protocol (BP), based on the bundle protocol of RFC 9171 (reference
[1]),..." So, establish a standard for bundle protocol based on
bundle protocol? Seems more like a normative recommended practice
for defining a Bundle Agent's service? The book as written seems
straightforward enough and I will note that the original Blue Book
had the same title/approach, albeit based on RFC 5050 (vs 9171). So
this is really just a question/request for clarification and not a condition.
Peter Shames (Approve with Conditions): The linkage between
RFC9171 and this spec is well understood, and that linkage does cover
many common features. That said, there are some support features
that are inherent in the terrestrial Internet, "for free", like DNS,
that are not available in space. The extremely simple registry
structure that persists in this document does not remedy this
issue. One potential remedy is provided in the attached notes. Many
other issues that need clarifications are noted in the marked up document.
Ignacio Aguilar Sanchez (Approve with Conditions): The document
update is well appreciated.
Please find a few change proposals and requests for clarification.
