CONDITIONS/COMMENTS:
Jonathan Wilmot (Approve with
Conditions): 1) System and application access
control. A.9.6.MP2 Please clarify in document
the meaning of "dedicated (isolated) Computing
..." The implications to Space Systems could
range widely, from a separate unit isolated by
network, processor, and memory, a MILS (Multiple
Independent Levels of Security) hypervisior, an
ARINC 653 partition, or a simpler Linux memory
partitioned process. All of these are
potential/viable system choices based on the threat analysis.
2) A.11.2.MP2 Consider recomendation for space
system mechanism to detect modification of
onboard software. Space system typically have
on-board integrity/signitures for software
loads/components. These signatures should be
validated as part of security processes. Many
space systems perform runtime checks and report these signatures in telemetry.
