The following draft CCSDS Recommended Standard has been placed on 
line for CCSDS Agency review:

        CCSDS 651.1-R-1.  Producer-Archive Interface Specification
                          (PAIS).  Red Book.  February 2012.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  This draft Recommended Standard provides the 
abstract syntax and an XML implementation of descriptions of data to 
be sent to an archive. These descriptions are negotiated agreements 
between the data Producer and the Archive that facilitate production 
of agreed data by the Producer and validation of received data by the 
Archive. This draft Recommended Standard includes an abstract syntax 
for describing how these data will be aggregated into packages for 
transmission and one concrete implementation for the packages based 
on the XML Formatted Data Unit (XFDU) standard. This will fulfill 
parts of the process defined in the Producer Archive Ingest 
Methodology Abstract Standard (PAIMAS).

The due date for receipt of review comments by the Review Coordinator 
is 2012-4-6.  Area Directors and WG/BOF Chairs may submit review 
comments directly to the CCSDS Review Coordinator.  More information

1  Per CMC Action Item CMC-A-2007-10-05, agency reviewers are reminded to

    pre-Agency-review reviews but is instead expected to participate in
    Agency reviews when they are announced.
