CMC E-Poll Identifier: CMC-P-2007-06-003: Authorization to establish
SOIS Application Support Services Working Group

Results of CMC poll beginning 7 June 2007 and ending 22 June 2007:

                 ADOPT: 1 (14.29%) (JAXA)
ADOPT PROVISIONALLY: 6 (85.71%) (BNSC, CNES, DLR, ESA, INPE, NASA)
                REJECT: 0 (0%)
  REJECT WITH COMMENTS: 0 (0%)

BNSC: As others have noted, this is a revision of an existing
charter, not the creation of a new WG. Other than recording that, I approve.
CNES: SOIS messaging service compatibility vs MAL (Messaging
Abstraction Layer) of SM&C is to be confirmed
DLR: please clarify, why the goal of the working group is only
to provide a magenta and not a blue book.
ESA: It is not a resolution to create a WG. That WG exists
already and it is a matter of extending its existance by agreeing on
a revised charter (e.g. dates, documents).
INPE: For the sake of long term, effective onboard cross
support, the widest possible Agency participation is certainly a
fundamental factor in the work which is under proposal. The current
Charter is an update of the already existing WG, naturally touching
the higher, application layer, as a natural complement to the
Subnetwork Services WG Charter which is also under consideration, at
the moment. The Charter should explicitly include a justification
which explains why the Magenta Book set is under consideration, in
place of a Blue Book one.
NASA: he NASA provision for adopting this is that NASA does
not currently have the resources to commit to a leadership role, so
"NASA" must be removed from the "Working Group chair" line of the
Resources section. NASA will agree to remain in the research and
prototyping activities, although the exact support level is
TBD. NASA therefore plans to support the working group, but only as
resources are available. NASA does intend to actively seek to secure
new future resources".

Results are based on responses from 7 out of 10 members (70%).

No response was received from the following Agencies:

ASI
CSA
FSA

Secretariat Interpretation of Results: Adopted Provisionally
Resulting CMC Resolution: TBD
Inferred Secretariat Action: Contingent on Disposition of Provisions
