Dear CMC Members:

Concerning CMC-R-2006-07-002 (see below):

CESG review of CCSDS 732.0-P-1.3, AOS Space Data Link Protocol (Pink
Book, Issue 1.3, September 2005) revealed an inconsistency in
terminology: the identification of a bit field (Virtual Channel
Frame Count Cycle) as "optional" in the Pink Sheets was thought to be
incorrect, since those bits must exist in the frame header regardless
of whether they are used. Therefore in the Blue Book version
prepared for release, the Virtual Channel Frame Count Cycle bit field
is identified as mandatory rather than optional. This change was
made after consultation with users of the protocol, and it is
considered by the CCSDS editor as well as the Working Group chair to
be an editorial correction. The attached PDF file shows the change in context.

Best regards,
Tom Gannett
