The following draft CCSDS Recommended Standard has been placed on line for 
CCSDS Agency review:

      CCSDS 122.0-R-2.  Image Data Compression.  Red Book.
                        Issue 2.  July 2005.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  This Draft Recommended Standard defines an 
image-data-compression algorithm applicable to digital data from payload 
instruments and specifies means to control compression rate and how these 
compressed data shall be inserted into source packets for retrieval and 
decoding.

The due date for receipt of review comments by the Review Coordinator is 
2005-9-6.  Area Directors and WG/BOF Chairs may submit review comments 
directly to the CCSDS Review Coordinator.  More information is available at
