Dear Member,

Next week marks the inaugural meeting of our newest subgroup, the Foundations AB SIG. This SIG is tasked in its charter "To host discussions, perform analysis, and provide input to the AB and advise OMG membership concerning the central technologies and techniques used to define the OMG specification ecosystem." This covers a wide range of possibilities, including how best to leverage our current MOF-based ecosystem of specifications, where MOF may have limitations, what a next generation foundation may look like, and how to encourage and facilitate interoperability not just within, but between our specifications to encourage modularity and reuse of metamodels in the pursuit of excellence. If you are registered for the 2022Q3 TC Meeting and are attending in person or remotely, you can join in the discussion on Monday, Sep 19th, please check the agendas and event platform for details. If you are not yet registered for the 2022Q3 TC Meeting, you can do so here<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.omg.org%2Fevents%2F2022Q3%2Findex.htm&data=05%7C01%7Call_members%40omg.org%7Ce47f91ef38d6494362d908da966e0941%7C43ba4fbcdc0a4269b50364f0363799d8%7C0%7C0%7C637987696592889434%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ECAYBLSH%2B6KOxupf0Hqz2ySd4LHmx8xSV8lMI1WFZf8%3D&reserved=0>. Any member may join the mailing list, of course, at foundations-absig at omg.org<mailto:foundations-absig at omg.org>, available for selection on your Member's Page at https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmy.omg.org%2F&data=05%7C01%7Call_members%40omg.org%7Ce47f91ef38d6494362d908da966e0941%7C43ba4fbcdc0a4269b50364f0363799d8%7C0%7C0%7C637987696592889434%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ZORFOkNmwhjaedLFiq68dhD0sUNmvejJCmMAOb3PeoI%3D&reserved=0<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.omg.org%2Fmembers%2F&data=05%7C01%7Call_members%40omg.org%7Ce47f91ef38d6494362d908da966e0941%7C43ba4fbcdc0a4269b50364f0363799d8%7C0%7C0%7C637987696592889434%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=RkRr2oNppgxwZqT0i9dDrgT4Q4iXelQdl2unxSX%2BWO8%3D&reserved=0>.

Of special note for Monday's meeting, the Foundations SIG will be hosting a discussion on the background of MOF, and describe one effort to enhance it for application in systems engineering which will be of considerable buzz later in the week. Come get an early primer on this exciting development, and be sure to check the Analysis & Design Task Force's agenda for further information.

Sincerely,
