Dear OMG Space DTF members, CCSDS SM&C WG members and XTCE enthusiasts,
this note calls for the final internal review for updating XTCE (currently
at version 1.1, see
http://public.ccsds.org/publications/archive/660x0b1.pdf) to version 1.2.
During the last CCSDS SM&C WG meeting in May 2010 in Portsmouth, VA, which
was attended also by Brad Kizzort, co-chair of the OMG Space DTF, it was
agreed to initiate the update of the XTCE BB. The agreed strategy for the
update is to fix only bugs, minor improvements and annotation issues and
leave larger problems for a later update.
The material for the review is available in the review package:
http://cwe.ccsds.org/moims/docs/MOIMS-SMandC/Draft%20Documents/XTCE/XTCE1.2/XTCE1.2_Review_Package.zip
In particular, the file "xtce_review.doc" contains the full list of RIDs
collected in the last few years. In order to facilitate the review, Kevin
Rice has kindly provided his proposed dispositions in line with the agreed
update strategy (fix only bugs, minor improvements and annotation issues)
in the "Status" field among the following choices:
Accepted -- proposed for inclusion in XTCE 1.2
Rejected -- the RID is not considered appropriate for XTCE
Postponed -- it will not be included in XTCE 1.2, but it will be kept for
future updates
Discuss -- to be discussed at the telecon
The zip archive includes also XML files which provide details on the
proposed implementation for the RIDs flagged "Accepted" and examples.
Please review the material. Comments should be returned to Kevin
(kevin.rice at nasa.gov) no later than June 18. Depending on the received
comments, a telecon may be needed, which is tentatively scheduled for June
23 16:00 CET.
Further instructions and material are in the package, start with the
index.html file.
Best regards,
__Mario
