ORCA C-GRID Information Day
San Diego, CA | Wednesday, March 28

The Global Regulatory Information Database: A Knowledge Utility for GRC
Appliances
In 2005, the Object Management Group (OMG) launched new initiatives to
develop resources that would help the industry cope with increasing global
regulatory compliance management burdens. This event provides an
introduction to and overview of the RC-DSIG Standards Committee; the OMG
Regulatory Compliance Alliance (ORCA); and the Global Regulatory
Information Database (C-GRID) - an open resource for Governance, Risk
Management and Compliance, for GRC, professionals.

Participants will learn:
    * How OMG standards support a new generation of GRC-oriented enterprise
architectures
    * How the CGRID can be used by GRC officers at end-user firms
    * How and when the CGRID can be integrated with other enterprise
products to form the basis of a compliance-oriented solution
    * How to model and map controls, standards, and frameworks to measure
the impact of regulatory requirements

OMG SPAWAR Information Day
Meeting Future Critical Information Needs
San Diego, CA | Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Representatives from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San
Diego, along with OMG members, will present an Information Day on
Wednesday, March 28. The Navy and Department of Defense have been working
towards implementing an open, networked service-oriented architecture
environment that leverages open standards. The SPAWAR Information Day will
focus on the need for the increased use of open standards, and will include
a brief on a real world application of open standards from Raytheon and a
discussion on how to assess and track compliance to the standards. The
Information Day will then close with brief tutorials on three topics:
Service-oriented Architecture, the Model Driven Architecture standard, and
the Data Distribution Service standard.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego) is the
U.S. Navy's research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and
fleet support center for command, control and communication systems and
ocean surveillance. SSC San Diego provides information resources to support
the joint warfighter in mission execution and force protection. The Center
employs 3,400 civilian and military personnel, the majority of them
engineers, scientists and technicians developing technology to meet the
Navy's information requirements of the future and providing Fleet support
to keep current information systems running.
