<span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Dear All,</span>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">
recently the SEA AD has submitted a resolution for
including in the normative track the formerly Green Book for Security
Glossary; i.e. eventually the book will be published as Magenta Book.</span>
<br>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Rationale for
this is the fact that definitions, in any Blue or Magenta document should
be regarded as foundational specifications worth being in a Magenta (and
not Green) Book.</span>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Of course this
reminds that glossaries have to be treated as normative material as Glossaries,
and in particular, Definitions in our Blue and Magenta Books, have always
been normative content. </span>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">However, some
( many?) blue books have terms defined as informative annex after
having carefully created definitions used consistently in documents.</span>
<br>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Your WG may want
to consider checking your documents having definitions in informative annexes
with respect to the necessity for keeping or changing the approach.</span>
<br>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">This is reflected
in the updated SLS Plenary Agenda (available also in CWE)</span>
<br>
<br><span style=" font-size:10pt;font-family:sans-serif">Best regards</span>
