band(s) (not defined in CCSDS 211.1-B-4) in case of new needs. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

(<i>in synergy with the “Lunar” Proximity Link standard in S-band under development</i>) in addition to UHF, for the following reasons:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

more likely “go out” of the CCSDS standard without a ready S-band Proximity Link standard applicable on Mars, and also some synergies might occur between future “private” and “public” and “public+private” missions on Mars.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>

bands will continue (as today) to be not allowed in the Shielded Zone of the Moon (Except 410-420 MHz for specific EVA links). So a “Moon to Mars”-like initiative for proximity link in UHF looks not possible.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
