<p class="MsoNormal">I think there are then two aspects here, the data rate tested to see whether the designed protocol can really sustain the offered data rate at link layer in ideal conditions. And then there is the point related to effectiveness of the ARQ,
which pretty much depends on the physical layer characterization, i.e. the power vectors I was referring to in my email. Either way I think claiming 10+ I makes sense, isn’t it (for sure I won’t enter the details of power vectors and so on, since not relevant
for the CESG discussion)?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I see they have also discussed again erasure codes, but I have to check whether there is any impact on SIS (we have a project, going to be removed as agreed), as apparently the idea would be to update the existing orange book I (and colleagues
of DLR) did roughly 10 years ago. The update would mostly at coding level, not clear whether they are taking any decision (or willing to do it) about the positioning of the shim-layer implementing erasure coding. If you like I can also share the slides of
the SLS-OPT meeting about this point.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For the new name of the protocol HTP, well as said I can mentioned Hooke subject to a final agreement within the WG. In my opinion it’s important to converge before creating the book. Useless to say that very likely CESG/CMC would be happy

have to be reflected in the content of the corresponding orange book, whose book to be created next. As to the data rate, we may say 10+ Gbps. If I’m not wrong the objective of HRLTP project was a target of 10 Gbps and the power vectors used to characterize
the physical layer were tailored to such a data rate. For higher data rates slightly different power profiles should be instead considered. Nevertheless, I don’t think that the protocol operations would be affected by a slightly different channel profile,
