Revisions</title></head><body>
<div>Chris,</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>These protocols, including NORM, can function just fine without a
contemporaneous return link from the client to the server.&nbsp;
Certainly, at some point, there must be a link for NACKs to be
returned to the server, but this return link can occur at any
arbitrary point even long after the server has sent the entire
file.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>So, I should have included the word &quot;contemporaneous&quot;
in what I said in my previous email.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>For whatever it is worth, the RFC is at
http://norm.pf.itd.nrl.navy.mil/rfc3940.pdf.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Cheers...</div>
<div>Jim</div>

<blockquote>This works better because it more clearly indicates in
more general terms what the section is about.&nbsp;&nbsp; CFDP is not
the only alternative for reliable file transfer when, for example, a
return link is unavailable, and starting in the third sentence, the
use of CFDP is amply specified for the given example
anyway.</blockquote>

section:</blockquote>
<blockquote><br>
<blockquote>NORM (<font color="#000000">NACK-Oriented</font> Reliable

<blockquote><br></blockquote>
<blockquote>This sentence is appropriate for a Green Book, as it
serves to promote the reader's understanding through additional
relevant information.</blockquote>
