[SIS-CFDPV1] CCSDS Fall 23 Meeting - Wrap-Up & Next Steps

Dear All,

I would like to give you a brief wrap-up of our CCSDS CFDP WG meeting last week:


  1.  CFDP-B6 Update: We have made good progress towards the update of the blue book. We went through Cheol's comments and agreed (I hope) on the features that will become optional. The responses are in captured in the following document I have just uploaded to CWE.

              (There is one additional small changes regarding the length of the segment requests in NAK PDU. I think it just has not been correct for large files. Please see Table 5-10.)


  1.  We went quickly through the changes to the Magenta Book for CFDP over 'everything' (SPP, EPP, LTP, BP, IP, UDP). This seems to ok in terms of content but will need some editorial updates (and maybe removal of Annexes B and C). It's in CWE:

  1.  Next steps:
     *   I will try to make final drafts of both books available early next year
     *   We should resolve any remaining working group comments at the next CCSDS meeting and go for agency review
     *   MSFC volunteered to support interoperability testing with ESA; this is likely to happen more towards end of next year (TBC); we will discuss details at next CCSDS (any volunteers for writing the yellow book?)
