the CCSDS fall 2022 meetings be arranged to have actual face-to-face meetings,
it strikes me that we may have an opportunity for a joint session with
regard to the CSS Area CSSM WG. When Jim Border was the chair of
the DDOR WG we had some preliminary sessions on this, but that came to
a halt during the pandemic mostly due to difficulties for coordinating
the CSSM WG virtual meetings across many time zone and then arranging/coordinating
inter-working group joint meetings on top of that. That is not to
say that the CSSM WG ignored inter WG considerations, such as when it comes
to looking at DDOR activities with regard to service management standards.
The CSSM WG continued to work on this as time allowed and the attached
outlines an approach for coordinating DDOR standard and CSSM WG standards
where they have overlapping concerns.</span></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-Bottom:0px"><span style=" font-size:11pt;font-family:Georgia"> </span></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-Bottom:0px"><span style=" font-size:11pt;font-family:Georgia">The
fundamental consideration as I see it is to develop DDOR standards that
can operate outside of the context of standardized service management but
then as standardized service management is developed and adopted, also
operate inside the context of standardized service management. At
the same time, the CSSM WG is not at all expert re DDOR observations and
processing, and would prefer not to invent things outside of its area of
expertise. Do you think the DDOR WG will be meeting in person? If
so, perhaps we could arrange for having a joint session on Wednesday of
the technical meetings week?</span></p>
