all good points.
 
I think I can throw some light on one aspect. I belive that I am right
in remembering that the places where it says things like "i.e. AIP"
arose because some members of the TRAC group wanted to "dilute" the OAIS
flavour of the wording and so inserted phrases such as  "submitted
objects" or "archival object" which have no more specific definition. 
 
There was some discussion in TRAC as to whether to say "e.g. AIP"
instead of  "i.e. AIP", however in the end it was accepted by all that
given the broad definitions of, for example, AIP, the "i.e." was the
better option since "e.g." would open up needless uncertainty.
 
In 2.7, 2.9 and 2.10 it may be that there were caught up in a desire to
reduce the number of metrics and we may have gone too far. They do
require some further review.

progress on completing our revision of section B.2. In that effort I
prepared the attached document. I hope it will be useful in finding a
