[MOIMS-NAV-EXEC] [Cesg-all] FW: [EXTERNAL] Change in Boot Camp Schedule

Hi David

I do not feel the need to attend as I attended last time round in Toulouse. Personally I think if they want to increase attendance then they should move the boot camp to mid-week and not have it on what can be a travel day. Also, I would be less inclined to attend on a Monday as I think we all need to be eased into standards mode when we turn up at the meetings and not go straight into a technical meeting first thing on a Monday morning.

Regards

Brian

All:

Any thoughts on this topic? Anyone feel a need to attend the Document Editors' Boot Camp this time around?

The timing looks like it's at the same time as the MOIMS Plenary and extending into the time we usually use as a Working Group to kick off the week.

Thoughts?
David

Dear CCSDS CESG and WG chairs,

In prior years Tom Gannett and I have presented the Boot Camp training on Friday afternoons. Sometimes we get a decent turn-out, other times it is just a few people who attend.

This year we want to try something different and shift the Boot Camp to Monday AM. Looking at the schedule there are not a very large number of working groups that are scheduled for Monday AM after the Plenary. So we wish to try an experiment and shift the Boot Camp to Monday AM. Tom will start with his Publication content, process, and technical editor materials right after the CCSDS-wide Plenary. I will join him for the CCSDS process and document structure parts after my SEA Plenary completes.

If you can make this work within your own schedules please consider sending all WG Chairs, document editors, and any “newbies” to this Boot Camp.

Thanks for the support, Peter

Amber, Brian:

Peter and I have conferred and decided we would like to move the boot camp from Friday afternoon to Monday morning from 9:45 to 12:30. Can you make that happen?

Thanks,
Tom
