Minutes

1. Prototyping Status

1a - Services

A prototyping meeting was held Tuesday 9 April 2024.

Cesar: Progress on GMV side. Issue with reporting of errors - error number 0 not allowed. The latest Red Book and XML Service Specification should be up to date. Peter & Roger to check and to distribute to the ESOC and DLR. Action DONE.

Christoph: Marvin has adapted the DLR prototype to MAL v10 and test specification issue 12. Some comments on issue 12 have been provided, some more comments are to come for Guillermo to implement.

Guillermo: Will clean up the book and provide issue 13 next week. Action Guillermo.

1b - File Formats

Quinten has provided the update Yellow Book and XL spreadsheet. Testing to be performed probably by ESTEC, due to lack of manpower at ESAC. ESA will agree internally on this. The intention is to perform a first test run of the File Formats during the next weeks.

DLR agreed to perform the testing of the File Formats, but this cannot be done before the Spring Meeting and will probably take place in 2-2.5 months from now. This is not considered an issue for the WG, as the current Blue Book is expected to still be in Agencies Review after the Spring Meeting (review period will be 60 days).

2. Blue Book Status
The updates to the MP&S Red Book resulting from the CESG comments were accepted (with no reaction from Peter Shames within the review period, as per CCSDS procedure).

The CCSDS Chief Editor (Tom Gannett) raised an additional concern with the Red Book use of requirement styles. These issues were corrected by Roger and provided to Tom. No more feedback was received from Tom after this.

Currently a CMC Poll for the Red Book is needed to release it for Agencies Review. We missed the previous poll cycle, and we will be hopefully in the next one. Peter will follow up.

Roger has made an additional update to the Blue Book due to the MAL error numbering, see above. This update and corresponding XML Service Specification will be the current version for the prototyping. However, this update will not be included in the Agencies Review, as it arrived too late.

Maria raised an issue with the current Blue Book section 4, which is currently not titled "Information Model" as was expected. This makes the references to the Information Model inconsistent within the Blue Book. Peter suggests not to fix this for the moment, but to raise a RID instead, and to investigate more thoroughly the consistency of all terminology in the Blue Book (in fact in all MP&S books).

3. Spring Meetings Planning
Meeting rooms were requested for Monday (after CCSDS and MOIMS Plenary) until Friday noon. Friday afternoon is reserved for reporting and the MOIMS Closing Plenary.

Peter to contact Mehran on the participation of Cesar (and possibly Dominik) to the MP&S WG meeting on Thursday morning. Action ONGOING.

4. New CWE Projects
New draft projects for the MP&S Information Model Magenta Book and MP&S Green Book (Issue 2) were created in the CWE area. The schedule of the Magenta Book project was updated in line with the latest schedule for the Blue Book publication.
The new projects are now submitted to the CCSDS Secretariat and should be in the next CMC Poll for approval.
5. AOB
Next WG meetings will take place during the CCSDS Spring Technical Meetings in Washington D.C. from 29 April - 3 May. Most WG members confirmed their in-person attendance to the meetings. Peter will provide a WebEx for the ones joining remotely.
