</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-GB link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72" style='word-wrap:break-word'><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Following yesterday’s meeting I’d like to tell people about one point that came up related to conformance.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>I had added a number of interfaces which, it seemed to me, would make OAIS-IF must more useful in the sense of actually being able to support the creations of applications, and fulfil some more of the use cases in the GB.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>The question John and Roberta raise was whether these additional interfaces were needed for conformance. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US>Looking at this in some detail we realized that the BB template includes a normative annex A IMPLEMENTATION CONFORMANCE STATEMENT (ICS) PROFORMA, which allows one to state which requirements (which I take to mean which interfaces etc) are mandatory and which are optional, and also which are conditional on other things.
