<div dir="ltr">Fedora is currently on version 4, and there has been a community discussion on how to better incorporate preservation functions into the platform. Last I checked in, the main topics were support for PREMIS and the relationship between the Fedora repository, storage APIs, and fixity checking.<div><br></div><div>At its core, Fedora is mostly performing storage functions (such as receiving AIPs, checking fixity (optional), and providing an API to assemble DIPs) and data management (mostly storing serialized versions of descriptive metadata). Specific Fedora implementations like Samvera, Hyku, etc will add additional applications on the platform to create interfaces for ingest workflows and access platforms.</div><div><br></div><div>-Nick Krabbenhoeft</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr">On Fri, Jun 22, 2018 at 1:07 PM Mike Kearney <<a href="mailto:kearneysolutions@gmail.com">kearneysolutions@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="m_-1290073017789393640WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal"><a name="m_-1290073017789393640__MailEndCompose"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060">Yes indeed, thanks all for helping me get a grasp on things like vendor claims. <u></u><u></u></span></a></p></div></div><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="m_-1290073017789393640WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060"> -=- Mike<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060">Mike Kearney<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060">Huntsville, Alabama, USA<u></u><u></u></span></p></div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#002060"><u></u> <u></u></span></p></div></div><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="m_-1290073017789393640WordSection1"><div><div style="border:none;border-top:solid #e1e1e1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in"><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">From:</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> MOIMS-DAI [mailto:<a href="mailto:moims-dai-bounces@mailman.ccsds.org" target="_blank">moims-dai-bounces@mailman.ccsds.org</a>] <b>On Behalf Of </b>Hughes, John S (398B)<br><b>Sent:</b> Friday, June 22, 2018 11:23 AM</span></p></div></div></div></div><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="m_-1290073017789393640WordSection1"><div><div style="border:none;border-top:solid #e1e1e1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><br><b>To:</b> MOIMS-Data Archive Interoperability <<a href="mailto:moims-dai@mailman.ccsds.org" target="_blank">moims-dai@mailman.ccsds.org</a>><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Moims-dai] Question on FEDORA<u></u><u></u></span></p></div></div></div></div><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="m_-1290073017789393640WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1f497d">Well said Mark.
