Both groups consist of representatives from Federal Agencies, defense or other manufacturing industries and the software developers for the CAD/CAM/CAE and other supporting software used by the first two groups. Both groups are concerned with continued long term preservation and continued usability of data. In their case long term preservation is measured in 18 month increments (one version of the software to the next) and usability as interoperability between different hardware/software stacks employed along the supply chain - and over 60-100 year time frames. These folks are very close to the coal face when it comes to long term preservation.</div><div><br></div><div>Mark</div><div><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail-m_-959021036361825629gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div>Mark Conrad<br>NARA Information Services</div>
