This is not a "cop out." It is a conscious decision to allow communities to develop the digital preservation repositories that best meet current and future (as it can be surmised) community needs as preservation and future use impact and shape those community needs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Appropriate Preservation Description Information should address Brent's issues from his community's perspective. Two repositories may preserve the same data. One may guarantee access only to the raw data; the other may guanantee access to the data and to how it looked and sounded.
