I still advocate that we should meet in person as much as possible. Our meeting in Toulouse was the most productive/accomplished we’ve been in a long time. I’m hoping we can duplicate that feat in The Hague. I think we really didn’t make headway in Huntsville because of lack of attendance, and if we are now effectively down to only one face-to-face per year, we need to make that one meeting work as best we can.

Dear all,

I can confirm that I would have gladly been present in person at the meeting in The Hague in November.

In the next few days, I would have had ESA's authorization to book flights and hotels.

However, for me it make sense to participate remotely in virtual sessions as proposed by David and suggested by Peter.

I think it is important in the upcoming weekly meetings in September to close most of the open points and discussions and consolidate the GB, MB and BB drafts to allow developers to work on the design, development and testing phases of prototypes on a stable common basis.

Also, in September we should clearly define the test scenarios and the plan and how we want the prototypes development teams to provide the DAI WG with evidence of the tests performed and what criteria for acceptance of the prototypes we intend to apply to facilitate the consolidation of the YB document.

It will be important in the video-meetings of November to have a participation of Agencies developers in charge of prototypes development to get an update on developments status, to receive any technical suggestions useful to refine the BB specifications and to know difficulties or defects encountered that DAI WG has to fix.

What do you think?

Kind Regards,

Roberta

Dear all

I gather that at least a few people (John, Mike and maybe Roberta) plan to be in The Hague in November. But Steve (and other JPL people) have had their travel cancelled, so he cannot be there.

My concern is that since the weekly meetings are largely discussions between Steve and I, I am not sure what we will be able to do at the November meeting that we will not be able to do via video-meetings. Peter Shames suggested that WGs could video meet with JPL folk at 1400 – 1800 PM CET daily over that period.

In other words, I don’t know whether it is worth the expenditure of time and money for me, or anyone, to travel to The Hague – and stay, eat etc.

Personally, I’d rather do daily extended video meetings, much as I like seeing people in person.

Any thoughts?

Regards

..David
