Dear Margherita-san,

From JAXA, I reply to your inquiry about extending the length in
bytes of eventQualifier.

There is no objection about this change as version 5 both in CLTU
and FSP.

The current version of two JAXA SLE User systems , supporting only
CLTU in forward services, is version 2 (for near earth satellite
missions and deep space missions)
and version 4 (only for deep space missions). It is possible to
implement version 5 from version 4 by small program modification.
Unfortunately, JAXA SLE Provider systems do not still support throw
event requested by SLE Service Users.

JAXA continues to make the utmost effort through reviewing documents
though no JAXA have not joined in CSTS WG for three years because of
insufficient human
resources.
Dear CSTS WG Members,
at ESA we have come up with a (minor) change which
we would like to introduce in two SLE Books - CLTU and FSP.
The change relates to the "Throw Events" capability,
which is now widely used at ESA as it allows to do station's
configuration
actions by the Mission Control Centre
The request we have received from our operators is, simply,
to extend the length of the qualifier of the event (the
"eventQualifier")
from currently 128 bytes to 1024 bytes (see details below*)
They deem that the present qualifier format is overly
restrictive and should be changed to accommodate longer qualifier
strings,
in other words, it should accommodate longer lists of parameters.

Given that the CLTU and FSP books happen to be still in
the Editor's queue (following the Agency Review),we have a chance
to inject
now this last-minutes change.
If that succeeds, the change would already be available
in the upcoming the SLE version 5
Obviously, the change is backward compatible with
implementations respecting the existing constraint.

With this e-mail, I would like to ask the Working Group
members if they agree to the change.
If there will be no objection, we will immediately
proceed with the update of the books. Then, the Editor will at
last release
all the 5 SLE books for the poll.

Please let me have your answer by 6 July cob.
Kind regards,
Margherita
