rather simple </tt><br><tt>and therefore suboptimal demodulator as illustrated in figure 3-3. </tt><br><tt>Such scheme just demodulates the telemetry symbol stream, remodulates </tt><br><tt>and removes it from the composite receive signal prior to ranging demodulation.</tt><br><tt>Significant improvements can be obtained by performing also symbol </tt><br><tt>decoding down to bit level followed by encoding and remodulation. The </tt><br><tt>major drawback of this scheme is complexity and some delay in </tt><br><tt>obtaining the ranging signal.
