<p>It is my sad duty to inform you that Dr Horst Kummer has passed away on 11 April 2015, aged 85 years.
</p><p>Dr Kummer, of German nationality, worked at ESOC from August 1965 until November 1986.
</p><p>His last position was Head of the Columbus Operations.
