For what it's worth, we understand that the transmission will be all-CCSDS:

The compressed audio file will be encoded using CFDP. [Hear it at
http://www.delta.ro/beatles/beatles/acrossth.wav]
The CFDP_PDUs will be wrapped in standard CCSDS Telecommand frames/coding
SLE will be used to transfer the CLTUs to the DSN ground station in Madrid
The CLTUs will be radiated towards the North Star, Polaris (with the
"Test" Spacecraft ID) at 19:00 EST this evening, Monday 04 February

"Monday, February 4th 2008 is the exact 40th anniversary of the
Beatles recording their anthem of universal peace - "Across The
Universe" - in 1968. To mark the occasion, Beatles fans worldwide are
invited to play that Beatles song at the same time of day - creating
a harmonic convergence around the globe. And the Beatles' universal
message will NOT be restricted to Planet Earth! The US Space Agency
NASA will play a major part in the celebrations by beaming the song
"Across The Universe" literally Across The Universe! NASA is going to
transmit the Beatles tune from a satellite antenna directly into
outer space! And it will do this at the exact same time as fans
Across The World are playing "Across The Universe"!

Former Beatle Paul McCartney, who beamed his first intergalactic
concert to the International Space Station in 2005, congratulated
NASA and asked them to pass on his regards to anyone else out there.
"Amazing! Well done, NASA!" he said in a statement released by the
space agency. "Send my love to the aliens. All the best, Paul."
Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, characterized the song's transmission as a
significant event. "I see that this is the beginning of the new age
in which we will communicate with billions of planets across the
universe," she said."
