Dear CCSDS Colleagues,
As directed by NASA Headquarters, Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GST)
is preparing CCSDS Secretariat support elements for transition to a new
contractor. These elements include document files, databases, servers, etc.
Please be advised that the CCSDS Web site and mailing lists will be taken
off-line at 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, January 19. If you need to upload
files to DocuShare, you should do so before 8:00 a.m. EST on January
19. You will be able to download files from DocuShare and the site itself,
and utilize the CCSDS mailing lists, until 5:00 p.m.
Questions regarding the transition of Secretariat support should be
directed to Jack Kelley at NASA Headquarters.

The following draft CCSDS Recommendation has been placed on line for CCSDS
Agency review:
CCSDS 211.1-P-1.1. Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol--Physical Layer.
Pink Book. November 2003.
DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION: This draft update to the Proximity-1 Space Link
Protocol--Physical Layer Recommendation assigns channel number 0 as
specified to match current use by Mars Odyssey and Mars Express. It also
provides implementers with a requirement on how much their implementations
can deviate from commanded Proximity-1 data rate.
The due date for receipt of review comments by the Secretariat is
2004-3-29. Area Directors and WG/BOF Chairs may submit review comments
directly to the CCSDS Review Coordinator. More information is available at
the Web sites identified below.

review materials are available for downloading at the following locations:

The following draft CCSDS Recommendation has been placed on line for CCSDS

CCSDS 211.0-P-2.1. Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol--Data Link Layer.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION: This draft update to the Proximity-1 Space Link
Protocol--Data Link Layer Recommendation changes transmitter and receiver
frequency assignments to match the new frequency assignments from 0 through
7 instead of 1 through 8; defines transmitter modes to be backward
compatible with the ODY and MEX missions, and forward compatible with
future missions; and updates the frequency tables in the SET PL EXTENSIONS
directive to match the proposed channel assignments from 0 to 15 instead of
1 through 16.
